Weekdone personal usage flow

Weekdone usage flow

To get the best out of Weekdone in improving your personal goal-setting, planning and weekly status updates to others, here is how it works as an organic flow of 4 steps that is easy to adopt:

  1. You get a weekly or daily reminder to share an update. This can be set to daily (for reporting what you got done this day) or weekly (just before the report deadline, usually Friday 5 PM). The reminder arrives to your inbox, to which you can even directly reply via e-mail to add your items to Weekdone. Ideally you would update your weekly and quarterly goals, projects and items progress daily, checking it both in mornings and evenings. Start and end your day with it.
  2. You update goals, share accomplishments and mark progress. Your personal page should be filled from top to bottom. It takes just a few minutes. Start from quarterly objectives and progress, marking their progress by dragging the progress bar and giving a comment. Then fill the weekly update categories. The weekly update usually follows the PPP (Progress, Plans, Problems) methodology for entering at least 3 types of updates – accomplishments, plans and challenges. Often PPP is followed by weekly custom questions like lessons learned or improvement ideas, fill in these as well. Everything you enter is immediately shared with your co-workers. The quarterly updates use the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) methodology. An Objective is your big ambitious goal, the Key Results show the progress you’re making to achieve the objectives. Project updates are similar to key result ones. You should mark your key result and project progress as you go – but at least weekly – to show how far you are with reaching the goals.
  3. Everyone gets the reports via e-mail. The team members and managers get the compiled e-mail report of every team member’s weekly status updates grouped by people or categories. There are also regular OKR e-mail reports. These are delivered to your inbox, accessible on weekdone.com or your smartphone and tablet. They all start with an informative dashboard that shows you who in your team needs more attention or who deserves a pat on the back.
  4. Give and get feedback. To keep everyone informed about what their colleagues think about their week, you can comment, discuss and like each others items to show support or ask for more details. There are also feedback upvotes for good job, great teamwork and to keep it up on each person’s page and their sidebar hovercards, make sure to click these. The real-time Newsfeed is another good place to give feedback, but you can also go to specific person or team pages. You can also have a private dialog with your manager about the week in the 1:1 weekly review section on your page.

Now go and make sure your objectives, projects and weekly items are up to date. Then see what others are up to and give them a pat on the back. Enjoy Weekdone!
