There comes a time every year, usually in December, when you look at your to-do list and realize you will not get everything you had planned done. Mostly, because there is never enough time.
At this point you have two options: you can give up, chill, and face an awkward conversation with your superiors or you can do something about it.
This year, we decided to do a productivity sprint with our teammates! We pledged to do our best work for the first 3 weeks of December. To help us do that, we compiled this Holiday Calendar of Productivity.
In the calendar Derrek, a friendly productivity squirrel, and his friend, the owl, share their insight each day to keep you productive.
Staying productive for weeks at a time is a hard task, especially as we are not meant to be productive all the time.
Best productivity insights.
Fast Company writes about a study from the University of Toronto on the lunch break patterns of office workers. It revealed the absence of a proper lunch break can actually lower productivity. John Trougakos, associate professor of Organizational Behavior & HR Management, who coauthored the study, argues our brains have a limited pool of psychological energy.
“All efforts to control behavior, to perform and to focus draw on that pool of psychological energy. Once that energy source is depleted, we become less effective at everything that we do,” he says.
This is just one key insight you can learn from the calendar.
Over the next 3 weeks each workday, Derrek and his friends will offer you a motivating productivity tip. You can check the calendar daily, but it’s easier to just have them sent to your email.
For those who subscribe to our squirrel productivity tips, there are also a few presents you might find. Also sharing the squirrels will help you win a $50 Amazon gift card.
Derrek and his forest friends are brought to life by Weekdone goal setting app, which strives to increase productivity every day of the year. Try it out.
